Situated in the north Himalayan-state of Uttarakhand, the retreat borders the 1,300 sq km Corbett Tiger Reserve, which today protects astoundingly varied animal and bird life following a government plan instituted in 1936. The park is named after the legendary hunter-naturalist Col. Jim Corbett, in honor of this domiciled Englishman’s services to conservation. We honor him at Jim’s Jungle Retreat with an adrenaline-soaked experience in this ‘land of roar and trumpet’ nestling in a vibrant topography of reservoirs, rivers, grasslands, mountains and stately ‘Sal’ forests.
